Kitsiou, Niki, Faculty, 4th Grade

Niki Kitsiou holds a B.A. in Elementary Education (Grades 1-6) from the University of Crete, Greece, with a specialization in Special Education from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She earned her M.A. in Language Education for Refugees and Migrants from the Hellenic Open University. Ms. Kitsiou has extensive experience working with multilingual and multicultural refugee and migrant students in refugee camps and NGOs as both a teacher and researcher. At 香港六合彩开奖结果2023, she served for three years as a Shadow Teacher, during which time she co-presented a workshop on sketch note-taking and the importance of differentiated materials in childhood education at the 2019 ECIS Conference in Luxembourg.

Passionate about creating educational content, Ms. Kitsiou emphasizes visually stimulating information to enhance student motivation and engagement. She encourages students to express their ideas through visual means, fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Ms. Kitsiou’s teaching philosophy centers on guiding students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and act with confidence. She tailors her approach to meet each student's unique needs, nurturing their creativity and providing the tools for them to co-construct their understanding of the world through dialogue and collaboration. Her goal is to inspire students to believe in themselves, embrace their individuality, respect differences, and work together to build a more socially just world.

Her previous experience as a 5th-grade teacher has provided her with a solid understanding of the progression needed for 4th-grade students. Ms. Kitsiou is excited to continue in her role as a 4th-grade teacher and is committed to supporting her students in achieving their goals while ensuring they enjoy the journey!
