Giannopoulos, Alexandros, Swimming Assistant Coach

 Mr Alexander Giannopoulos was born and raised  in Athens, Greece. At the age of 6, he joined the Panellinios swimming team where he learned the basics of swimming. He became a national champion in 200 meters backstroke, 200 meters and 400 meters individual medley as well as in relay with the Panellinios team. He set a national record in the Greco-Cypriot school swimming competition and became a member of the Greek National Swimming Team.

Mr. Gioannopoulos completed his studies at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science in Athens where he received his diploma, specializing in swimming. He also joined the P.A.S.C.H.N.A. school and got a lifeguard license. He worked as a swimming coach for the Panellinios and Argo swimming teams. He also worked for the Argiris-Laimos private school baby swimming and as a lifeguard for the camp of Agricultural Bank of Greece.

 At the same time he joined the A.F. Studies and got an aerobic and a personal trainer diploma. He was appointed as a sports teacher for the IEK Akmi and worked as a trainer for the most prestigious sports clubs in Athens.

 In 2023, he received his MSc in Molecular and Applied Physiology with specialty in Therapeutic Exercise from the EKPA Medical School of Athens.

 He is still performing workouts as a trainer, gives individual exercises for athletes and for patients with various health issues, and has been a coach for the ACS Swimming team since 2023.
